Living a Better Story

Paris Olympic Diaries

As the 2024 Paris Olympics get underway and after the controversy around the opening ceremony,  we reflect on the Olympic values - excellence, respect and friendship – and the Olympic vision which is to ‘build a better world through sport’.

In a world filled with conflict, cynicism and mockery, it is inspiring to see these Olympic values lived out by the athletes.

One such example, was GB swimmer, Adam Peaty’s reaction after narrowly failing to secure gold in the 100m breaststroke and therefore a historic golden treble. It reflected the best of the Olympic and human spirit.  Immediately after the results were shown on the big screen, he swam over to lane seven and wrapped the Italian winner, Nicolo Martinenghi, up in a hug. This was a real demonstration of the Olympic values of excellence, respect and friendship and was about so much more than the medal.

We are looking forward to witnessing many other ‘gold medal’ moments in Paris over the next few weeks. Please get in touch if you would like to meet.
